Training camp Iten

Hello,
How are you? I am a long distant runner, competing in marathons. I am currently in Adelaide and I am planning an overseas travelling trip. I would love to do some training in Iten for approx 6weeks. I am just a bit concerned re safety.
Just wanted to know if you know much about this camp and your recommendations. My main worry is the safety.
My main aim is just to experience what it is like over there and get some good training tips. I will be travelling for about 10months altogether and after this training camp, travelling more for fun then when I get back taking in everything I have experienced.
Pretty exciting. I am looking at going to the training camp in early April this year.
